Dr Saggar's main research interests have been in 'autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease'.

This is shown in Chapter 2 of 'Inherited Disorders of the Kidney', in which he co-wrote chapter 2 'Gene structure and regulation and the application of laboratory techniques' in collaboration with Dr Stephen Jeffery.

The book is said to be 'the first book to present a practical approach to the investigation and management of people with inherited renal disorders. Taking an international perspective, it covers the dramatic clinical and scientific advances that have been made in the past decade.' (source).
