Dr Saggar trained at St Bartholomew's Medical
School University of London, and qualified MBBS in 1982.
He is a registered medical practitioner (General Medical
Council No:2572451). He is a member of the Royal College of
Physicians.Dr Saggar began his career at St Bartholomew's Hospital,
London and then went on to work in several London teaching
hospitals. He has a comprehensive record of experience in
respiratory medicine, diabetes/endocrinology, cardiology,
intensive care, nephrology (kidney disorders) and
neurology.
In 1988 he became a full time academic, and undertook
research at two centres of international repute:
The
department of renal medicine, Karolinska Institute in
Sweden and later in the Blood
pressure unit at St Georges Medical School, London.
Dr Saggar completed his training in Clinical Genetics
through St
Georges NHS Trust and Great Ormond Street NHS
Trust. He was appointed a consultant in 2000.
